Roasted Cabbage Steaks with Apple Walnut Dressing

In this recipe, roasted cabbage is mixed with an apple walnut dressing that is both sweet and sour. This dish is easy to make and tastes great. Its great for a cozy dinner or a special event.

Ingredients:

  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 apple, diced
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400F 200C

Slice the cabbage into thick steaks, about 1 inch thick, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper

Brush both sides of the cabbage steaks with olive oil and season with salt and pepper

Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until the edges are crispy and golden brown

While the cabbage is roasting, prepare the dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together the diced apple, chopped walnuts, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, water, and chopped parsley

Once the cabbage steaks are done roasting, drizzle the dressing over the top before serving

Garnish with additional chopped parsley if desired

Serve hot and enjoy
