A delicious take on classic hummus is Sweet Cinnamon Hummus. This is a creamy, slightly sweet, and warm cinnamon-flavored dip that is suitable for vegans. Ideal as a nutritious after-school snack or dessert.
Ingredients:
- 1 can 15 ounces of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup of tahini
- 1/4 cup of maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons of almond butter
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
- 2-3 tablespoons of water adjust for desired consistency
- Sliced fruits apples, pears, or strawberries and cinnamon sticks for garnish
Instructions:
In a food processor, mix together almond butter, ground cinnamon, tahini, maple syrup, chickpeas, and a pinch of salt
If you need to, scrape down the sides of the processor as you blend to make it smooth and creamy
Adding water one tablespoon at a time and mixing it in will keep going until you get the consistency you want
You can taste it and change how sweet or cinnamony it tastes as you like
Put the sweet cinnamon hummus in a bowl that will be used for serving
