Sonoma County Wine and Food Pairing

Enjoy the tastes of Sonoma County with this delicious food and wine pairing. Sonoma County Pinot Noirs rich and fruity notes go well with the smooth goat cheese, sweet strawberries, and sour balsamic reduction. This fancy appetizer will wow your guests and make any wine tasting more enjoyable.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle Sonoma County Pinot Noir
  • 8 oz
  • Sonoma County goat cheese
  • 1 baguette, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Warm the oven up to 175F 350C

Put the baguette slices on a baking sheet

Add some olive oil and salt and pepper to taste

For 10 to 12 minutes, or until just barely toasted

Balsamic vinegar and honey should be mixed together in a small saucepan

Lower the heat to medium and bring to a simmer

Cook for about 5 to 7 minutes, or until the liquid is half lost

Take it off the heat and let it cool down

On the toasted baguette slices, spread goat cheese

Place strawberry slices on top of each crostini and drizzle with the balsamic reduction

Add chopped basil as a garnish

Pair with a glass of Sonoma County Pinot Noir
